SV3 Data Summary for 8/25/2015: MET data was reporting during dock tests but has not been reporting since Tiny was deployed yesterday. All other data have been reporting reliably. Sea water pCO2 along BOG line is hovering around 350-380 uatm, compared to 400-480 uatm at Ano, and 380-400 uatm at Hopkins. Air pCO2 is slightly above water pCO2, at ~385 uatm; Ano and Hopkins are reporting similar for air pCO2. pCO2 diagnostics look normal. pH is showing a declining trend going offshore. pH vs pCO2 indicates pH is a bit higher than would be predicted for the measured water pCO2, by about 0.03-0.1; this is at the higher end of the typical spread we see at the OA moorings. Water temperatures are very high, >18 C, at the offshore and inshore ends of the transect, with cooler temps in between. Ano is relatively cool at 14-15 C, and Hopkins warm at 17-18 C. Salinity is showing fresher water (~33.18) at the offshore end of the transect. T vs O2 and T vs pH plots are less instructive at these high temperatures because of fewer historical observations, but could be showing lower-than-expected O2. BB and chl appear to be working fine. Chl is slightly higher mid-transect corresponding with the cooler waters.
