OASIS Command Reference

shutcom

Name

shutcom - shutter calibration utility

Synopsis

shutcom [<shutter driver name>]

Description

The shutcom is used to send shutter calibration commands, one at a time, to the shutter. The shutter driver name is the name of the shutter driver as returned by the dp command. If the can is configured for only one shutter, the shutter driver name is optional. The following commands are available:

Command
Function
ccw nnn
Move in CCW direction for nnn ticks
cw nnn
Move in CW direction for nnn ticks
set
Set the current position as home (closed) position, and update drv_parms
open
Call the shutter open routine with the current drv_parms
close
Call the shutter closeroutine with the current drv_parms
where
Read the current position of the paddles
CR
Exit Shutcal

Typically, shutcal is used to move the shutter to its closed position using the 4,5,6 commands, and then setting the home position with the h command. The O and C commands may be used to check the operation of the shutter.

TIP: The counts value displayed corresponds to a potentiometer value that ranges from 0-4095; the closed position is usually approximately 2000. If this is not the case, the shutter paddle may need to be rotated on its shaft. If the counts value does not change or the shutter does not respond, it is often due to a disconnected cable on the OASIS controller.

Example

Calibrate Shutter0:

shutcom shutter0
