(2) Impresses an ac current on power conductor. To decode, requires a pulse transformer to convert to voltage. (3) Consumes 0.5 ma for 30 seconds that the string is powered, and 8 ma for the two seconds that it transmits. Avg is 1 ma. (4) Acts as AC generator. Output voltage and frequency both proportional to wind speed: 10 Hz/(m/s), 100 mv p-p @ 60 rpm (= 180 Hz, 18 m/s). (5) Is a 10 Kohm potentiometer. Current is a function of voltage applied. For example, applying 10VDC consumes 1 ma. Note that output is open for the 5 degree dead band. Should be clamped by signal conditioning circuit. (6) Xmit and Rcv only, no handshake lines. (7) Sensor has internal integrator, selectable time constants of 0.1, 1, 3, or 10 seconds. At 3 second default, should operate for at least 15 seconds before acquiring data. (8) Needs 3 second warmup. Response time is 0.1 second. Manufacturer suggests integrating for at least 17 ms before doing A/D conversion. Sensor can provide data at 14 bit resolution. (9) RS232 signalling but at TTL voltages. (10) Carrier detect output, channel select input, TTL. (11) 0.5 seconds minimum. (12) Optionally, connect to regulated +5 (+/- 0.3%), current goes down to 10 ma.
